New Mariah Carey – Migrate, Not As Life Changing As You Thought.

 Mariah Carey - Migrate

*‘Migrate’, Mariah Carey’s latest track to leak from her E=MC2, hit the blogosphere with an air of excitement. There has been some speculation that ‘Migrate’ might not be Mariah Carey’s follow-up single to her current No. 1 smash “Touch My Body”.

I really don’t see what the big deal is. Granted, the track is of crappy quality, DESPITE the MQ (Medium Quality) tagging. But giving ‘Migrate’ a couple of spins, its hard to differentiate ‘Migrate’ from any other booty bopin’ R&Cheese radio single out there.

Coming from the lady whose career bloomed with amazing songs like ‘Hero’, even to recent classics like ‘We Belong Together’, ‘Migrate’ as well as her current ‘Touch My Body’ are huge disappointments. I already have low expectations from Miss Carey.

19 Things I Loved About March

March

Its April already! Kinda sad to see March leave though, it was quite a month. Here are a few of my favorite moments of 03/08.

  1. Vampire Weekend’s Pop Fame
This month Vampire Weekend was the cover of Spin Magazine sending their self-titled debut up to top 10 iTunes Stardom. I even hear them on Top 40 radio stations!

    Vampire Weekend – Campus: Download
  2. Lil Wayne Doing the T-Pain
Lil Wayne went pop with Lollipop!

Lil Wayne ft. Feat T-Pain & Gabriel Antonio – Lollipop (Remix): Download
  3. The Roots Channeling Gym Class Heroes
“Birthday Girl” isn’t the revolutionary shit we’ve come accustomed to hear from the Roots. It sounded a little… “Cupid’s Chokehold” like.
  4. The Roots Being All Sorts of Amazing
But a few days after “Birthday Girl” leaked… “Rising Up” reassured us of the Roots’ talent.
  5. Death Cab For Cutie Possessing My Heart
DCFC’s new single may not be capturing everyone’s heart, but I really can’t get enough of it.
  6. The new Panic at the Disco album is Pretty. Damn. Good.
One of 2008’s most pleasant surprises for sure.
  7. 21’s Fucking Amazing Soundtrack
From this soundtrack some Hype Machine royalty spawned.

MGMT – Time To Pretend: Download
Rolling Stones – You Can’t Always Get What You Want (Re-Mixed and Re-Edited by Soulwax): Download
  8. SXSW!
Last year it was Amy Winehouse, the year before was the Arctics. This year’s break-out? N.E.R.D., dude.
  9. Beyonce’s Dreamy, Mysterious Leak
“Beautiful Nightmare” is hopefully just a taste of what’s to come
  10. Madonna and Justin Save the World in Under 4 Minutes
Madonna is back, in the most galling of ways.

Madonna – 4 Minutes (DJ Illo’s Stutter Mix) : Download
  11. Britney Breaks the Ice, Anime Style
Its Britney, Bitch… lookig sexier than ever.
  12. Hot Chip cover Snoop Dogg!
    This was just wonderful.
  13. DVNO was the Next D.A.N.C.E – Almost
All over the blogs? Check. Hundreds of remixes? Check. Ground-breaking Music Video? Semi-Check?
  14. Fall Out Boy and John Mayer Cover MJ!
These 3 or 4 minutes are the best you’ll ever hear from Patrick Stump.
  15. Arcade Fire Plays for Obama
    What the fuck?

  17. Stereogum’s Tribute to Bjork
Just as good as their Radiohead and R.E.M. tributes!
  18. The Raconteurs outdid the Stripes!
Consolers of the Lonely is overwhelmingly edgy and satisfying compared to Icky Thump’s underwhelming sense of urgency.
  19. XXXChange Remixes Panda Bear
Pitchfork’s best album of 2007 gets an dancey edge on its star-track

DJ Eli & co. One-Ups Chris Brown

DJ Eli & co. One Ups Chris Brown mp3

I’m not a huge fan of Chris Brown. None of his material ever interested me. Everything that came from this kid always sounded too over the top, including this new single “Kiss Kiss” which features an equally annoying and overrated T-Pain. I’m still confused as to why this song is No. 1 in America this week, I’d take Soulja Boy over this fool any day. Almost as if he can somehow read my mind, DJ Eli whips out his spin of “Kiss Kiss” with buddies Doug Grayson and Wale.

The track’s slow, hollow instrumentals and sleek synthesizers and sirens flawlessly distract the listener of Brown’s vocal limitations and does well with T-Pains technocorded spins.

I am not completely convinced of the stability of this track as a whole. I can see it will do fantastically well in Urban radio, and apparently its a hit on iTunes. Which makes me a tad bit sad.

GIMME MOREBritney Spears is back y’all! It ain’t the best track ever but FUCK — ITS BRITNEY BITCH! I must’ve played it 200 times already! I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about Ms. Spears’ comeback, but now I see that there is hope. If Britney can pull this off, maybe I can finally cure World Hunger or AIDS. Hmm… Anyway, another track off of Spears’ comeback has leaked (Cold As Fire), no recommendations there folks, stick to ‘Gimme More’. UPDATE: Hot fake ‘Gimme More’ Remix featuring T.I. available here.
