New Jay-Z – Jockin’ Jay-Z (Travis Barker Remix)

New Jay Z Jockin Jay Z (Travis Barker Remix) listenI wonder when I’m going to hear another song from Bluepring 3 that I actually like. I’m still waiting on the Kanye West collab “Haters” and the epic-sounding “Swagga Like Us, Pt. 2″ which features Andre 3000, Nas, and Young Jeezy as special guests. I wasn’t too impressed with “We Made History” and it’s hard to give Jigga credit the first “Swagga Like Us.” It still see it as T.I.’s work.

Anyway, The Blueprint 3 is expected to be out February of 2009. Until then, check this “Jockin’ Jay-Z” remix courtesy of survivor Travis Barker. Continue reading →

New T.I. – Whatever You Like (DiscoTech remix)

New T.I. Whatever You Like (DiscoTech remix) mp3 2008 has been a great year for hip-hop music, and T.I. is the third and fourth quarter’s Lil Wayne. His mega-massive sung-only hit, “Whatever You Like” is atop the single’s charts in the US and his other #1 single, “Live Your Life” is sitting at #2. That’s something Lil Wayne has yet to accomplish.

Lil Wayne didn’t have another song on Tha Carter III that could possibly match “Lollipop”’s marketability. T.I., however, has at least another song that can definitely hit the number one spot — his collabortive effort with Justin Timberlake, “Dead And Gone.”

Then again, T.I.’s Paper Trail didn’t sell over a million copies in its first week.

I’m not sure why I’m comparing T.I.’s success to Lil Wayne’s, when Kanye West’s album is about to drop.

I’m confusing myself. Just grab this remix — it’s a change from DiscoTech’s usual stuff, but its definitely not a bad thing. Download it below Continue reading →

Inconsistencies keep consistencies less suicide-inducing

Inconsistencies keep consistencies less suicide inducing covers
Now and then I like to mix up how I run things ’round here, Pretty Much Amazing. If you’ve been here for a few months, you may have caught the blog in a phase where I liked to mash one day’s worth of posts into one, extra-large post. I want to give that another crack.

Why? I guess you can say I’m not a huge fan of the monotonous life. This blog started out as a fun hobby, I’ll be damned before I let my hobby become monotonous.

Enough ranting, let jump into the music. I have some great mp3s for everyone including The Roots doing Weezy’s “A Milli”, Three (3) New WALE songs, and a KILLER Kanye West remix. Yeah, I bet you really wanna click that link down there, huh?

Top 10 Singles in the World, week 41

Top 10 Singles in the World, week 41 charts musicI’ve always been interested in the music charts — I keep tabs on the happenings of America’s music charts via Idolator’s fantastic column, 100 and Single written by chart guru Chris Monalphy. But much more interesting is the Global Track Chart, which monitors the top songs in the world.

This week at the GTC, Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” takes the No. 1 spot for the 7th week running. As it turns out, Katy Perry’s bi-curious summer jam caught on late in Europe and Australia. Though “I Kissed A Girl” has dropped off to No. 31 in the US’ Top 100 singles chart (though her new single “Hot ‘N Cold” is currently sitting at No. 6 — expect that to chart worldwide in 2-3 months). The rest of the chart seems pretty straightforward: Rihanna, no surprises here, P!nk, Coldplay, T.I., Kanye West, Pussycat Dolls. The only thing I’d like to mention is Kid Rock’s appearance in the Global chart. In the US, Kid Rock’s radio-friendly “All Summer Long” wasn’t released on iTunes guaranteeing (and limiting) its charting position into the lower 30’s-40’s. However, in Europe, the single has been made available digitally.

With Katy Perry’s washed up single at No. 1 and Kid Rock’s anti-charting song in the Top 10, it’s clear that America’s music chart isn’t as dominating as I thought it was. Talk about reality check.

New T.I. – Swagger Like Us (Diddy’s Swagger Like Puff Remix)

Diddy acts a fool for the camera and brings one of the most enjoyable “freestyles” in a while. This is exactly why his YouTube channel is my HQ for retarded rappers with their video cameras.

T.I., Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne – Swagger Like Us (Cobra Krames Remix)

T.I., Kanye West, Jay Z, Lil Wayne Swagger Like Us (Cobra Krames Remix) mp3
The (seeming) rap anthem of 2008 is, once again, remixed and re-cut by the best of the best. This time, bloggy favorite, Krames hits this track with club-ready beats. This “Swagger” remix is remarkably better than the first one I came across with. Upon first listen, you think cutting Yeezy’s verse short is a bad thing, but it makes sense after a few listens. This is a grower, for sure. It’s a goodie, though.

T.I. feat. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne – Swagger Like Us (Immuzikation Remix)

Swagger Like Us
I got this track from Immuzikation on Saturday, but I’m just getting around to posting it now. Immuzikation speeds “Sweagger Like Us” quite a bit and makes it pretty dancable. This remix isn’t his best, not by a long shot, but its a fun spin for those Friday nights. There’s something mystic about laying Yeezy, Hova, Weezy, and TIP over a rattling, outta control funky electro beat.

The more I listen to this song (remix or not), the better T.I.’s verse sounds. It’s almost dizzying.

New T.I. & Rihanna – Livin’ My Life

Rihanna

Does anyone else think T.I.’s Paper Trail (out September 30th) is going to be the best rap album of the year?

So far, TIP’s cuts are impressing me a bit more than Weezy ever did with Tha Carter III — and Weezy never got that brilliant Rihanna feature on one of his tracks, come on Weezy, even Maroon 5 know Rihanna on your joints is a good thing… the idiot. Anyway, “Livin’ My Life” is one of those songs you just know will win the GRAMMY for Best Rap-Sung Collaboration.
This track is definitely hot, many thanks to Rihanna. Undying love for her. Oh… and T.I. has something to do with it too, I guess.

Swagger Like Us

Swagger Like Us

There has been so much new music in the interwebs over the passed few days! UGH! I couldn’t keep up! I was camping all weekend though, so maybe that is why. Thank goodness for Wordpress’ autopost functions.

Anyway, here’s to me trying to catch up with what went down this weekend. First off the most important song to leak, off T.I.’s Paper Trails, the hip hop god behemoth, “Swagger Like Us”.

Yeezy, Weezy, Hova & TIP rapping over M.I.A. What else can I say? Straight Up!
