5 Pop Acts You Are Allowed To Like

What’s wrong with pop music? It’s more of a rhetorical question, I don’t need a shitfull of unhappy Pitchfork fan boys preaching about the evil, spawn of Satan that is Pop Music. This goes out to those same Pitchfork fan boys who are desperately trying to prove their indie cred. Take a breather, guys. You can actually turn up KIIS FM and not feel completely suicidal. Here are the 5 Pop Acts you are allowed to like without getting your ass kicked by the indie police.

UPDATE: Read The Rap-Response to this post here.

Lily Allen on eMusic
You gotta love this bad ass Brit; in essence, she’s a likeable Lady Soveriegn. She’s so badass she’s beating out Chris Martin and Patrick Stump as Rap’s favorite Pop Hook, believe me, that’s bad ass. Stereogum loves Allen like no other, well second to the Arcade Fire.

Nelly Furtado on eMusic
There are few things in this world that can be recognized almost anywhere; you have coke, a woman’s breasts, and Nelly Furtado. Unless you and your stash of coke and porn have been hiding under a rock since the summer of 2006, you have, most likely, been graced my Nelly’s beauty and Timbaland’s stabbing deep-drum. Love and loathed,Nelly Furtado holds a unique groove and mellowness that when combined work amazingly well on the dance floor, and just as good on my iPod headphones.

Music Blog Master List

I have neglected/ignored this page for long enough. I will go through the comments and add the blogs that want to be on this list, and delete the links on this page that don’t exist anymore (there are lots). I am also going to place links in their right categories. If you would like to help, please let me know. Stay tuned…

Music bloggers are people who are outspoken, love to talk about music, and want to share the obscure and unknown to the world. I praise these people because they input many hours a week to bring you (the reader) the best and newest in music, may it be Indie, Jazz, Soul, Alt. Rock, or Polka, there is a blog for you. A music blogger is NOT a person who advocates or takes part of musical piracy advances. They provide an MP3 file free of charge to promote an artist they like, and more often than not, they take the file off when asked to. More experienced music bloggers provide links to the record label and the artist’s personal site.

Being a huge fan of Music Blogs, Pretty Much Amazing presents a list of music blogs divided up by taste or genre. I want this list to be utilized by music fans and unknown artists alike. Music fans, find your new passion. You might find some amazing music you never knew existed. Discerning artists, find blogs that fit your music and hopefully you’ll find an audience. Keeping track of this phenomenon isn’t easy so please accept my apologies if your Music Blog is not included, if you want your blog to be added, please leave a comment below.

NOTE: If you see your blog or want your blog up here, PMA would appreciate a link back (http://prettymuchamazing.com/) Thank you.
