New MGMT feat. Jim Jones – Electric Feel (Dirty Remix)

New MGMT feat. Jim Jones - Electric Feel (Dirty Remix) listening-boothJumping on to the (Hype) Band Wagon a little late, rapper spits a verse or two over’s “Electric Feel.”

Is “Electric Feel” the new “Paper Planes”? Are the new .?

I guess we won’t know until  or  get on it.

I don’t care if “Electric Feel” becomes the next highly sampled indie track for hip-hop music — I like this!

Props to Confusion @ PeePee for this one!

New Wale feat. Duffy – Warwick Avenue

New Wale feat. Duffy Warwick Avenue listenBrit producer tyrant and Lindsay Lohan’s future Brother-In-Law, Mark Ronson has signed DC rapper boy Wale to his label and has been working with Wale on his debut LP. On this track, Wale is rapping over Duffy’s mellow “Warwick Avenue,” not unlike Jay-Z’s stunt with Coldplay.

I’m not sure if this is some playful remix, or if this is a legit track that will appear on Wale’s forthcoming Back to the Feature.

Catch the track after the jump: Continue reading →

Inconsistencies keep consistencies less suicide-inducing

Inconsistencies keep consistencies less suicide inducing covers
Now and then I like to mix up how I run things ’round here, Pretty Much Amazing. If you’ve been here for a few months, you may have caught the blog in a phase where I liked to mash one day’s worth of posts into one, extra-large post. I want to give that another crack.

Why? I guess you can say I’m not a huge fan of the monotonous life. This blog started out as a fun hobby, I’ll be damned before I let my hobby become monotonous.

Enough ranting, let jump into the music. I have some great mp3s for everyone including The Roots doing Weezy’s “A Milli”, Three (3) New WALE songs, and a KILLER Kanye West remix. Yeah, I bet you really wanna click that link down there, huh?

New Wale – I Will

New Wale I Will listen

It’s been a while since I posted any new Wale. Hell, it’s been a while since I’ve heard any new Wale worth posting — or maybe I’ve just been hating. If so, this song is probably for me. Wale’s a player hater, y’all. Or maybe a game hater?

PS: Check that track he did for that Levis ad campaign.

The Roots ft. Wale, Chrisette Michele – Rising Up

The Roots ft. Wale, Chrisette Michele Rising Up mp3

Nah Right reports that the Roots might be ditching the Patrick Stump-fueled “Birthday Girl” as Rising Down’s first single in favor of the title track itself. “Rising Down” is the collaboration everyone has been waiting for. I definitely prefer this piece of masterwork over the Gym Class Hereo-esque alternative.

New MP3s: Lil Wayne, Lollipops, Wale, The National

New MP3s: Lil Wayne, Lollipops, Wale, The National mp3

1. Lil Wayne – Lollipop DOWNLOAD| LISTEN
A couple days ago, “Lollipop”, Lil Wayne’s probable first single off his Tha Carter III album leaked. It just might be the best rap song to use lollipops as a metaphor for oral sex, but even though, this song is getting a wtf from me. There has been some speculation that this is not the final album version (what is with Weezy anyway?), but hopefully its not and hopefully Lil Wayne will pump up the bass or something, and maybe learn to say something other than “lickin’ like a lollipop”.

2. Wale – Back in the Go-Go f. Bun B & Pusha T DOWNLOAD | LISTEN
This next one is the first leaked single off Wale’s new release The Mixtape About Nothing. A solid track indeed. It makes me excited for the Seinfeld-inspired album.

3. The National – Around The Bend DOWNLOAD | LISTEN
A couple of weeks ago, The National premiered “Around The Bend” at BAM. National fanatics around the internets are treating this song like its a God-send. Did I miss something? Maybe a studio version will convert me…

DJ Eli & co. One-Ups Chris Brown

DJ Eli & co. One Ups Chris Brown mp3

I’m not a huge fan of Chris Brown. None of his material ever interested me. Everything that came from this kid always sounded too over the top, including this new single “Kiss Kiss” which features an equally annoying and overrated T-Pain. I’m still confused as to why this song is No. 1 in America this week, I’d take Soulja Boy over this fool any day. Almost as if he can somehow read my mind, DJ Eli whips out his spin of “Kiss Kiss” with buddies Doug Grayson and Wale.

The track’s slow, hollow instrumentals and sleek synthesizers and sirens flawlessly distract the listener of Brown’s vocal limitations and does well with T-Pains technocorded spins.

I am not completely convinced of the stability of this track as a whole. I can see it will do fantastically well in Urban radio, and apparently its a hit on iTunes. Which makes me a tad bit sad.
