SO PMA HAS A NEW LAYOUT (OBVIOUSLY!)

JUST LOOKING FOR SOME FEEDBACK. I JUST FELT LIKE A CHANGED, IT WAS A STRONG URGE.

I’M NOT REALLY ATTACHED TO THESE LAYOUTS AS THEY ARE GENERIC WORDPRESS LAYOUTS, SO I AM JUST FEELING THROUGH THEM. I’M NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE BANNER FOR SURE, LOOKING TO MAKE A NEW ONE SOON, OR CHANGE THE LAYOUT COMPLETELY — AGAIN!

THINK OF THIS AS TRYING CLOTHES ON… SO NOW, YOU CAN BE THE FRIENDS WHO CAME TO THE MALL WITH ME; HOW DO I LOOK?

yes the banner is annoying. particularly the puerile font and the irritating “insert witty catchphrase here”

  2. cleaner and classier !
    just change the banner…

  3. nate's mom

love it dude, keep it up

  4. I think I will stick to Wordpress, but I really love the user-friendly atmosphere at WP.com and having a selfhosted blog would be a pain with installing plugins, updating ever so often, etc.

So I do have my heart set on VIP hosting, but I am a ways away from their desired traffic level.

    :/

Thanks for your advice. I am still feeling my way through different looks on test blogs, and any that I like, I will post (update PMA’s layout) here and ask for opinions.

  5. My $0.02? Stick with WordPress over MoveableType!

I understand the issues around self-hosting, definitely… and my site is actually at bluehost, I’ve had good luck with them, fwiw.

    Best of luck with everything!

  6. Daniel,

I am uploading a temporary header today, I am not sure if I have anything to offer for anyone who’d enter a header costest though.

But it’s okay for now, I’m not looking into anything long-term until I figure out what I’m doing. I basically have 3 options:

    1. move everything over to my server on Bluehost and run wordpress there.

    2. somehow get into wp.com’s ultra special VIP Hosting, because at the moment i looooove wordpress.com and getting around their strict javascript and ad limitations would be grand.

    3. move everything onto bluehost BUT on movable type 4, something that seems interesting, but I like WP a lot.

until everything pans out, i will stick to generic stuff, i guess.

A new header would be nice, other than that i like it.

  8. Luis,

Do you have a logo or brand (font/identity) that you want to incorporate, say, into a new header?

You could run a header design contest and ask your faithful readers for submissions. :)

I like the current layout – it’s clean and I like the colors. But Daniel is right – why not try everything on offer and see what you like best?

Just stay away from fluorescent colors…please.

  10. I agree with the banner thing, its begining to bug me! lol

I will work on one when I have time, unless some generous soul would like to help out?

And I have thought about a custom design, but as long as I’m hosted on wordpress.com, it can’t happen.

  11. So clean and slick, it’s way easier to read!

I like the colors, but yeah, the banner needs an upgrade

I think with a spunky banner (like your old one! how hot was that?!) this outfit will work

  14. One of the cool things about CSS and WordPress is how easily you can change your “clothes.” Try ‘em all out!

I will say I liked the red theme from earlier this week a bit better than this one.

Designing your own look isn’t all that crazy difficult… have you thought about branding your site with a custom design?

  15. Kelly

    You look fabulous
