Feist has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Advertisements. uncategorized

Feist never stuck me as an artist who is desperate for media attention. I am very confused as to why she has lent her song to 5 different companies. I tend to stay away from the whole who’s selling out debate because frankly I don’t care — but 5 advertisements?! I think that’s what you call selling the fuck out. Maybe that’s just me. I still love Feist though.

if a company calls you up and asks you if its ok if they feature one of your songs in an ad, how is that selling out at all?

selling out is changing your music from what you want to make, into what will make you more money.

she didn’t sell out, shes just letting people use her tunes in an advertisement.

This is in no way “selling out”, if anything, we should all be happy and grateful that major companies like these are willing to let artists such as Feist be a part of their commercials. Not only does this support the lesser-known and “indie” artists, but it also allows for viewers to come to terms with music they may not ever hear, since it is coming outside of traditional Top 40 radio. Sorry, but I’d rather listen to Feist along with dozens of other indie artists, rather than being subjected to “Soulja Boy” or “Gimme More” in the same kind of advertisements. Just my opinion (… a really long one at that).

well it sucks, her music is good enough to sell on its own. now the memory of that special boy is interrupted by the thought of the nano when i hear 1234
whatever.

I don’t really care, let her do whatever she wants. She deserves to be heard, no matter what. Go Feist! Chii~!
