I honestly never thought I'd ever have the privilege of listening to a new Afghan Whigs album. Considering this band is responsible for masterpieces like 1993's Gentleman and 1996's Black Love, that was a hard pill to swallow, but one I did a very long time ago. Then last month, after some reunion touring and sharing the stage with Usher, the Whigs announced a new album, their first since 1998's 1965. It's to be called Do To The Beast and this is its first single, "Algiers," with its attendant spaghetti western-inspired video. Beast is out April 15.
