You've got two options when it comes to listening to "Monomania," Deerhunter's first single from their fifth record of the same name: you can stream the track on its own, or you can watch the band's debut performance of it on Jimmy Fallon last night. If you want to check out Deerhunter's slightly revised lineup in assorted patterned shirts and don't mind some mild, Bradford Cox-typical gore (you'll see), check out the live video; if you just want to hear them summon demons in the heaviest (and, somehow, among the catchiest?) song they've probably ever released, you should probably do both. Once you get past Cox's Southern Gothic lyrical entreaties ("If you can't send me an angel, send me something else") take a close listen to Lockett Pundt and new guitarist Frankie Broyles' tightly interwoven guitar lines. We can't wait for this record - it drops May 7.
