TING TINGS

British boy-girl duo the Ting Tings made a huge splash in 2008 with We Started Nothing, an album completely jam-packed with electro-tinged anthems, driven by cheerleader-y vocals from guitarist Katie White and dance floor-ready production from drummer Jules de Martino.

The band’s three-year quiet spell seems to have born fruit, though – our first taste of new material (other than that out-of-the-blue 2010 single "Hands", and its subsequent remix by Passion Pit) is electrifying, rhythmic new cut “Hang It Up,” and it’s the band at their best, showing off their trademark huge hooks while swapping cleverly chanted playground insults.

The video’s classically Ting Tings too – bright colors, sword fights, and teen skateboarders are all well and good, but they don’t distract from White and de Martino’s effortless pop. Check it out.
