As you might have heard if you have any kind of internet presence, last night Nirvana were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and they brought along some special guests for the ride. When we started hearing rumors about the band's quasi-reunion and performance, we were feeling a kind of weird, beating-a-dead-horse disappointment, but now we feel a sweeping, consuming sense of FUCK YEAH, possibly having to do with the fact that the band chose four of our favorite lady songwriters to front the band in Kurt Cobain's stead. Check out video clips below - Joan Jett joined the band for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (why not Kathleen Hanna, though?), Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth for my personal favorite Nirvana jam "Aneurysm," St. Vincent's Annie Clark for "Lithium" and, later at an afterparty at Brooklyn's Saint Vitus Bar, "Heart Shaped Box," and Lorde for "All Apologies." Check it out.
