Denver duo Tennis will release their second LP, Young and Old on February 14, and based on latest releases “Origins” and its b-side, “Deep in the Woods,” they haven’t lost the Beach House-covering-The Walkmen sound you probably love them for. But new track “Deep in the Woods” delves into some surprisingly dark territory for the husband-wife duo who brought you a debut record rife with sailing imagery – lyrics based on Shirley Jackson’s gothic novel We Have Always Lived In The Castle and a video that looks like stitched together outtakes from David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” supplement the track’s sweet, upbeat, piano-driven twee pop. It’s so loveable, catchy, and simultaneously creepy that you’ll want to watch and listen ten times.
