We don’t want to get our hopes up, but it looks like Cass McCombs might be building up to a new record – at the very least, we’ve got a new song, “Morning Star,” and an accompanying video of vintage skateboard footage compiled by Patrick O’Dell. We know the combination seems at first to be kind of random, but press play: Cass’s lilting, nostalgia-enducing guitar line and lyrics that are playful here (“what’s it like to shit in space?”) and yearning there (“leave your husband and come with me”) fit perfectly. Even if you haven’t watched a skate video since seventh grade, you’ll want to check this one out. We’ll keep you updated on album news from Cass.
