Check Out: Gypsy & the Cat – “Sorry”

“Sorry” is a new single from budding Melbourne duo Gypsy & the Cat (because Niki & The Dove was already taken, you see), and it’s simple only in its title – clattering percussion and kitchen-sink instrumentals remind us of fellow Melbournians Architecture in Helsinki, and those undeniably catchy but also undeniably weird beats remind us of Gotye, another Aussie. And like Gotye, Gypsy & the Cat could easily nab a little mainstream attention if they keep writing effortless pop singles like this one. That irresistible sing-along chorus has particular potential. Check it out.
