Class Actress, the Brooklyn-based project of Los Angelean songwriter Elizabeth Harper and actual doctor of psychology Mark Richardson, are befittingly a class act – their smooth, bass-heavy electropop is irresistibly dancey and super-catchy in a way you’d expect from plenty of Class Actress’s borough-mates, but the sultry, confessional vocals of onetime coffeehouse guitarist Harper and her band’s sexy ‘80s new-wave pulse and drive are something special. New single “Bienvenue,” cut from their 2011 record Rapprocher, shows the band at the top of their game; its video, shot in Paris, is appropriately Francophilic. Check it out.
