Lupe Fiasco smothers his otherwise inoffensive lovelorn musings in ornate political metaphors in his latest single “Battle Scars,” featuring Australian crooner/producer Guy Sebastian doing his best Bruno Mars. This would be the fourth single from Lupe’s highly anticipated new album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 (yes, part one of the second part). So far we’ve heard the Pete Rock-sampling “Around My Way,” the vernacular-attacking “Bitch Bad,” and the utterly uncomfortable “Lamborghini Angels.” Another single called “How Dare You” is set to drop on September 11th – the whole album will be available on September 25th.
