22-year-old British singer Adele has already won herself a Grammy, and her talent shows no signs of going anywhere. Her second record 21 is upcoming this spring on XL Recordings, and its first single “Rolling In the Deep” dropped in November. The video, recently premiered on VEVO, transplants Adele herself, a drummer, a dancer, and those tremendous, chill-inducing pipes into a strange, vacant building in ruins. It’s a visually remarkable video, laden with themes of loss and destruction, but the song – Adele’s voice, that pulsing percussion – is the real masterpiece here.
