It’s official, the disco era is upon us once more. The new video for “My House,” from disco-house architect Andy Butler a.k.a. Hercules And Love Affair, recreates a retro, disco dance party so articulately, you wouldn’t believe it was recorded within the decade. The video includes a supa-fly array of vintage fashion, including MC Hammer and Milli Vanilli impersonators, some authentic grindin and oldschool dance moves, and two very hilarious throwback commercials in the middle for 24 hr drycleaning and New York style Mexican chicken. Shot on a fuzzy, low resolution camera, and taking place in a club that resembles Electric Circus, “My House” is the ultimate reconstruction of the disco age. Hercules And Love Affair’s sophomore effort, Blue Songs, is out January 31st via Moshi Moshi. Watch the immensely enjoyable video below:
