This gorgeous alternate version of High Violet‘s opening track, “Terrible Love,” will appear on reissue/extended edition of the album as well as on a single pressed on 7″ violet vinyl, both due out November 22. The alternate “Terrible Love” will be backed by terrific post-High Violet stand-out, “You Were A Kindness“. That track will also appear on the High Violet: Extended Edition, along with “Wake Up Your Saints,” “Walk Off,” “Sin-Eaters” and chilling live renditions of “Bloodbuzz Ohio,” “Anyone’s Ghost,” and “England.”
The National released this video of the new “Terrible Love”, directed by Tim Berninger. The homey video depicts the National, not only as an intense, powerful live music beast, but also as a completely likable, goofy band of brothers (literally, four of the five members are sets of two brothers).
