A little over a month ago, we posted a cover of The Cure’s classic “Lovesong” by British synth rockers The Big Pink and revealed that the outfit were working on their followup to their 2009 debut, A Brief History Of Love (one of our favorite albums of that year, by the way). The band has just confirmed that the new record — Future This — will drop in January of 2012 via 4AD and released the first single “Stay Gold” and its accompanying video, which you can peep below.

“Stay Gold” maintains the group’s fondness for electrifying synth rock, equipped with heavy bass riffs and a consistent electronica presence. “Stay Gold” will be released as a 7” single on November 8th.

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
