On Sunday night, Daft Punk made an appearance (not an performance, unfortunately) at MTV’s annual VMAs. Before presenting an award to Taylor Swift, the Robots previewed a new music video for “Lose Yourself to Dance.” Following the massive mainstream success of “Get Lucky,” it isn’t surprising at all that they took the opportunity to launch their new single on pop music’s increasingly stale, yet somehow second-biggest night.
Aesthetically, the video reminds us a lot of the teaser DP released for “Get Lucky” back in April. I can’t knock the feeling that this is what MJ had in mind when he made the “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” video.
