It’s been a year since the mind-blowing, genre-bending electronic opus The Age of Adz was released, and preeminent singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens is still doing his thing, promoting it as if it came out yesterday. He has just released a new video for album cut “Get Real, Get Right,” which he himself animated and directed.
The animation is directly inspired from the artist Royal Roberts, who served as a major influence for The Age of Adz, both musically and visually. During several of Stevens’ live performances, he even used visuals from Roberts right on stage.
The clip follows the normal Sufjan motif: it’s trippy, weird, psychedelic, hard to understand and an absolutely stimulating visual experience. Check it.
