Seriously: Tame Impala took to Australia’s triple j radio this morning to cover that touching tale of alien love from OutKast’s Speakerboxxx / The Love Below, “Prototype.” According to Kevin Parker, it’s one of the band’s mutual favorite songs, and it’s receptive to their psychedelic touches – they basically succeed in making it sound like a Tame Impala song, with distorted guitars, funky backbeats, and competing vocals from Parker and Nick Allbrook. Check it out.
