The National curated ATP’s festival at Camber Sands Holiday Park in England this weekend, and they closed out the festival with a two-hour set that included four new songs, one of which is this one, “Lola,” which the band opened with. This is pretty good audio and visual quality for a fan-shot video (even though this particular fan only had eyes for frontman Matt Berninger, but we can’t blame them), so even if you’re a purist, press play. It’s an upbeat but tender ballad with customarily confessional vocals from Berninger and spine-tingling instrumentals (that guitar tone!) – we can’t wait to hear a recorded version. Check it out.
