Another Tuesday, another new Roots video – this one a fragment from track six on their upcoming record undun, “Stomp.” The video continues the story from last week’s “Tip the Scale”, of a young kid in the ‘90s who turns to crime out of necessity – as for the song, its rhythm fits its title, with a pulsing bass drum heartbeat that breaks into a guitar-and-piano jam effortlessly presided over by guest rapper P.O.R.N. It’s typical of the Roots’ orchestrally-precise anthems, staying highly considered in its instrumental and lyrical content while managing to be truly stomping. We can’t wait to hear the whole thing. Check the video out below:
undun is out December 6.
