MP3: Bright Eyes - "Haile Selassie"

Conor Oberst's prolific indie rock band Bright Eyes have just released the second single in anticipation of their forthcoming, highly awaited long-player, The People's Key, and are giving it away for free along with first single “Shell Games”.

“Haile Selassie,” named after the Ethiopian Emperor, worshiped today as a Christ incarnate and messianic figure of the Rastafari Movement, is heavy in Rastafarian discourse, and also highly reminiscent of 2007's Cassadaga. In an session with Interview Magazine, Oberst stated: “I liked the idea of having a record that's reggae-influenced but not musically.”
