Check Out: Sleepyhands

The indie music scene in Australia continues to thrive, with particular thanks extended to one radio station Triple J, who is to the nation what BBC Radio 1 is to the U.K. The network has a series of different programs with a distinct focus on discovering local indie outfits and giving them a chance at success, unlike most radio stations which play the same 20 songs thirty times a day.

One of our favorite recent Triple J discovery comes through their Unearthed program, a charming folk band called Sleepyhands. Picture a rawer, more acoustically inclined Avi Buffalo. Sleepyhands have just released their debut self-titled EP which showcases their knack for sweet vocals, subtle harmonies and acoustic vigor, and they'r giving away highlight “We Being Human” for free. Download it below, and be on the lookout for this 7-piece out of Sydney.
