The elusive Cults stopped by the Daytrotter studio recently and delivered a three-track set consisting of fan favorites "Go Outside" and "Oh My God" and the lesser known, "The Curse". I want to highlight, however, the set's first track, and one of my favorite songs of the year, "Go Outside". The song is 60s and 70s pop ambrosia. The magic of "Go Outside" lies in its blown up sing-along vocals, penetrating, twinkling glockenspiel, and that lazy, lazy bass line. In their Daytrotter version of "Go Outside," Cults introduce a full-bodied instrumentation that instantly becomes the driving force of the song. Listen and download below:
