Though a full bodied member of London's divisive PC Music cohort, Kane West (not Kanye) sounds the least PC Music. Whereas the group's brightest stars–A. G. Cook, Hannah Diamond, GFOTY–seemed to blast, fully-formed, out of the rift left behind SOPHIE's paradigm shifting 2013 single "Bipp", Kane's productions take a more inclusive approach. Across its 30-odd minute runtime, Western Beats (sometimes a misnomer) blends 16-bit video game sounds, house, electro and nu-disco music, with minimal school-girl chipmunk vocals.
