Abel Tesfaye's downhearted r&b project known as The Weeknd has quickly become one of the most sought after new outfits of 2011. With two new mixtapes coming out this year to follow his debut House Of Balloons, and with his close ties to Drake — if you haven't checked out their remix of Drake's “Trust Issues,” do so — The Weeknd has become one powerful force to be reckoned with. It's interesting to note that there haven't been too many reinterpretations of his songs floating around, till now.
A recent single, “Rolling Stone,” has just received the remix treatment from local Torontonian DJ's No Big Deal, who take the soft spoken ballad and add a fair amount of bass and a few pints of dubstep. Though the version is certainly more club friendly, they do a great job in maintaining the song's dreamy ambiance.
