Ontario's own indie rockers Tokyo Police Club have recently announced a new project called 10 Songs, 10 Days, 10 Hours, 10 Years in which the band will be covering ten different songs from the years 2001 to 2010 in only ten days. No easy task.
The first installment is a cover of Moby and Gwen Stefani's 2001 hit “Southside,” which features M83's Morgan Kibby doing Stefani's vocals.
“Southside” is a bit darker and more mysterious than anything Tokyo Police Club has really come out with before, making it pretty interesting hearing frontman David Monks tackle it vocally. The rendition is not too far off from the original, though there are a few added guitar solos near the end. Be on the lookout for the band's next cover, coming your way ridiculously soon.
