Arcade Fire have completed the work of recording their new album, according to drummer Jeremy Gara. The new album will be the band’s first since 2013's Reflektor. In an interview with Red Bull Poland, Gara seems to suggest that the record could be released as soon as April. He said that Arcade Fire have finished recording all the songs for the album. Still yet to be finished is the “mixing and trying to decide which songs will end up on the record, because we’ve recorded more than we need.” In case you were wondering if their new album will come with expanded editions like The Suburbs and Reflektor, well, you have your answer.
Gara says the band's popularity has not yet affected the way they approach making albums or when their albums ought to be released. “I know we’re a popular band, but we always stick to the same rule; we record until we feel that the music is ready.”
On the question of touring Gara indicated that the band planned on gigging the new material for at least two years. The exact dates have yet to be ironed out. "I don’t know where we’re going to play, I don’t know when we start, or when we finish," Gara explained. "From my perspective, it looks like Arcade Fire starts in April and finish around April 2019."
There you have it. Arcade Fire season is officially approaching.
