Björk has been talking about her new album, which she describes as her “Tinder record”, for a few weeks now. First she relayed, through an Instagram post, that the LP was “coming soon.” Then she announced that its first single, “The Gate”, would be out September 18. That announcement also came with a statement where Björk explained that “Vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and I think this new album is about a love that’s even greater. It’s about rediscovering love — but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.”
Now, Jon Pareles, writing in The New York Times, has revealed that the album will be out in November, though he does not get more specific than that. Pareles also confirms that Arca, the Venezuelan musician who worked on much on Vulnicura and also released one of the best albums of the 2017 so far, has returned to produce the new album.
The album’s title, art, and tracklist is still forthcoming. Below, watch Björk’s latest video, for Vulnicura’s “Notget”. Warmthness.
