The often heartbreaking set times for this year's big Coachella festival have been revealed. Let's see what this year's damage is:
On Friday we see a potential tough decision between Youth Lagoon and Justin Vernon's bluesy outfit The Shouting Matches. Later on some people will have to choose between Metric, Divine Fits, Japandroids and Alt-J. Then Passion Pit v. Four Tet, followed by Beach House v. Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The hits continue until the end of the night: Blur or Grinderman? Stone Roses or How To Destroy Angels or Earl Sweatshirt? Stone Roses.
Saturday morning and early afternoon are packed with some great small bands, though the first major conflict is between Wild Nothing and Action Bronson, though we doubt their fan bases have huge overlap. Post-punk vs new rap continues with Savages v. Danny Brown. With some strategic planning and carefully laid out escape routes you can avoid major conflicts until the 7 o'clock hour where you are slapped with a major conundrum: Hot Chip, Yeasayer or Grizzly Bear? Later on you will actually have to decide between The xx and Janelle Monae, and even more heartbreaking, decide between Phoenix, Sigur Rós, Knife Party and New Order.
Unsurprisingly, Sunday is pretty mellow. With some (by now) well-practiced planning and escaping tactics you will be able to safely see most of DIIV's, Jamie xx's, Jessie Ware's and Grimes' sets. Unless you want to skip Grimes for Kurt Vile. Which we totally respect. Social Distortion, James Blake and Tame Impala overlap a bit. So do Vampire Weekend and La Roux. The rest of the night seems pretty drama free.
