David Bowie Announces New 'Blackstar' Album

The "completely bonkers" new album is out in January

David Bowie’s official website has confirmed that the legendary musician will release a new album called Blackstar on January 8, 2016. 

News of the album first broke over at the Times of London, who have an unnamed “Bowie insider” on the record claiming Blackstar is “an album of long, jazzy jams mixed with the kind of driving beat pioneered by Seventies German bands Can and Kraftwerk.” 

The source said the album also included “Gregorian chants, a soul section, various electronic beats and bleeps and Bowie's distinctive vocals.” They called the record “completely bonkers.”

Blackstar will be Bowie’s 25th studio album, following 2013’s The Next Day. Watch the video for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)” below:
