Death Cab for Cutie Return with New Record Kintsugi

Their first since the departure of Chris Walla.

Despite the departure last year of founding member and songwriter Chris Walla, Death Cab for Cutie are pressing on - they're gearing up to release a new record called Kintsugi. It will include some contributions from Walla - he worked on the record before his departure - and he apparently inspired the title, which is the Japanese term for a form of artwork wherein broken ceramics are repaired with precious metals. The experience of something's brokenness being integral to its status as an art piece inspired the band as they recorded the record without Walla. We don't have a single to go on yet, but peruse the tracklist below and check out the artwork above - we'll keep you posted. Kintsugi is out March 31.
