Drake Cancels Joint Album with Lil Wayne, Announces Mixtape with Rick Ross

Drake's new album, Take Care is not even out yet and he's already cancelling and announcing other projects. Well, damn.

The MC recently revealed to XXL that the rumored collaboration album with Lil Wayne was, in fact, not going to happen. At least not while everyone is talking about Watch The Throne.

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album. We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”

Understandable. I wouldn't want to compete with Yeezy and Hov either. But then, you have Drake saying that he's been working on a collaboration mixtape with Rick Ross called Y.O.L.O.:

“I have been working on a mixtape with Ross,. A mixtape called Y.O.L.O. [That means] ‘You Only Live Once’. I’ve been working on that for the last couple of weeks. We haven’t really connected because he’s been going through this thing with his health. I’ve been stashing my little beats and verses.”

We have no idea when Y.O.L.O. will ever see the light of day, but for now, you can check out "Lord Knows", Drake's song with Rick Ross on Take Care.
