New: Parquet Courts - "This Is Happening Now"

Take a subway ride through Brooklyn with Parquet Courts' new single for LAMC.

Famous Class Records' Less Artists More Condos series is on unlucky installment #13 - which seems fortuitous given the recent announcement of the closure of Death by Audio, a storied Brooklyn DIY venue - and Parquet Courts have risen to the task with one of their most unsettling weirdo jams yet, "This is Happening Now" (as opposed to "it is happening again"). Over a slow-burning backdrop that's basically Brooklyn autumn condensed to music, Andrew Savage lists the subway stops that take him deep into Brooklyn and Queens, past empty lots and school kids with lunchboxes, with that dead-eyed intonation you may remember from "Stoned and Starving," before the whole thing explodes, like a train picking up speed underground. You'll probably feel the need to put it on repeat all day - check it out, as well as the b-side from another Brooklyn band chosen by Parquet Courts, Future Punx.
