Janelle Monáe is no stranger to working with big names — she's pretty tight with the men from OutKast and she's already collaborated with the likes of Cee Lo Green, of Montreal and Erykah Badu — but she's stepping it up with The Electric Lady, her highly anticipated follow-up to 2010's better-with-age The ArchAndroid. The album's lead single, "Q.U.E.E.N." features the aforementioned Erykah Badu, and according to Billboard, Miguel and Prince (!) also make appearances on The Electric Lady.
Miguel shows up on a track called "Primetime," which features a sample of the Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?" over a spare funk beat.
And on her collaboration with Prince, Monáe said: “It’s not every day that he collaborates. I’m honored and humbled that he trusted me. He is forever my friend, and I am forever indebted. I can’t say too much else about it.”
Watch Janelle and Badu drop some swagu in the video for "Q.U.E.E.N." below; The Electric Lady is out in September.
