Radiohead fans have been waiting with bated-breath for the imminent arrival of the band’s upcoming ninth LP, which has been in the works since last fall. After courteous, periodic updates of the band’s progress over the last year or so, resident genius, Jonny Greenwood gave an update that should really make fans’ ears perk up. (But because this is Radiohead we’re talking about, it’s still pretty vague and up-in-the-air.)
UPDATE: Greenwood has clarified his comments on Twitter:
Mistranslation going on...What I actually said: Lots has been recorded, and we're about to go through it all to see if it’s any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet. Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator.
Originally, the following quote was circulated on reports, which was erroneously translated from a Russian radio interview:
“We have finished recording the new album but we keep reevaluating the work we’ve done. We hope we’ll get it right soon, and after that we’ll start planning the next year’s tour.”
