Jónsi, frontman of the Icelandic ethereal post-rock savants Sigur Rós has been keeping busy, still touring in support of his solo debut, last year's Go, and scoring Cameron Crowe's upcoming movie with Matt Damon, We Bought A Zoo. Then, the other day, a mysterious video appeared on the official Sigur Ros website with only the title “Inni” attached to it, which lead many to believe that the singer is back to work with the band who made him successful.
Now, courtesy of Onethirtybpm we've learned that the rumours are true, and that Inni is actually a film – it's being billed as a 'surprise film event' – which will premier at Venice Days at the end of August, a sidebar of The Venice Film Festival. As a surprise, the only other detail released is that Vincent Morrisset, the man who brought you the Arcade Fire documentary Miroir Noir, is directing. Listen to a snippet below:
