The Strokes Announce First U.S. Show in 3 Years

The band will play at Capitol Theater a week before they play Governor's Ball in New York

Fans have been going apeshit in anticipation of Governor's Ball Music Festival in New York on June 7th. After all it's a pretty kick-ass lineup, featuring Outkast, Vampire Weekend, Jack White, Disclosure, Interpol, and, importantly for many, it would be the first time the Strokes would be playing together since November, 2011. But now the band has announced that they will actually be playing a week prior to the fest, with a show at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY on Sunday, May 31st. Mind you, this is fairly positive news for Governor's Ball attendees, as this will let them polish their sound a bit beforehand. Tickets to the Port Chester show will be available starting this Friday. If you'd like to attend the Ball, head over here.

In the interim, watch them perform "What Ever Happened?" on MTV Live in 2005.
