Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig has given the first update on the forthcoming album, the first since Modern Vampires of the City (2013) and the first without founding member, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Rostam Batmanglij.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Koenig shared the album’s amazing working title: Mitsubishi Macchiato (“cuz it is a helpful concept”). He also lightly touched on the album’s sound: “A lil more springtime than the last one. Guitar’s not dead.” As far as when the thing’ll be out, he says the band is working on finishing the album ASAP.
