Bonnie Raitt's “I Can't Make You Love Me” has become a hot track this year, 20 years after the veteran singer/songwriter originally released it. First, the song was covered by folk luminaries and Bon Iver for their Calgary single, and at last weeks iTunes festival in London, British songstress and one of the most popular artists around these days, Adele, sang her own interpretation of it.
Like Bon Iver's rendition, Adele's cover strips the track of everything but piano chords and her powerful vocals, which is more than enough to make it stand on its own. Similar to most of Adele's ballads, it is poignant, graceful, and absolutely beautiful. What a wonderful year for covers. Check out "I Can't Make You Love Me" below:
