We're only seven weeks into 2014, but I've already heard a handful of albums that triggered short but intense bursts of obsession in me: Against Me'sTransgender Dysphoria Blues, Sun Kil Moon'sBenji, Beck'sMorning Phase and perhaps the strongest of the bunch, St. Vincent's stunning self-titled album.
Sonically, St. Vincent is a logical successor to 2011's Strange Mercy. A triumphant one, too. Already an album of quixotic delights, St. Vincent improves upon Strange Mercy in almost every single way.
Hell, I'll call it.
