Album Stream: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Days of Abandon
You probably already know that The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will follow up 2011's Belong with Days of Abandon, out next week via Yebo - now, in case you couldn't wait another week, they're streaming it via a forty-minute YouTube video that includes lyrics for every song. We've heard early singles "Simple and Sure" and "Eurydice," but they've got more in store as well - "Art Smock" has a charmingly caustic lyrics and twee vibe that recalls Belle and Sebastian, "Kelly" figures new singer Jen Goma's vocals over a bubbly musical backdrop that recalls, uh, Belle and Sebastian, and then there's "Masokissed," which sees Kip Berman doing his best Morrissey impression. Check it out - you can grab a physical copy in a record store starting May 13th.
