As previously reported, Island is releasing the first posthumous Amy Winehouse record, Lioness: Hidden Treasures – on December 5th – just in time for the Holidays. Just a couple days after the album announcement, the Nas-assisted "Like Smoke", one of the few tracks on the album not an "alternate" take on an existing Winehouse recording, has hit the net after being premiered on New York's Hot97.
Apparently, "Like Smoke" was recorded back in 2008 during one of the sessions that should have made up the follow-up to Winehouse's colossal Back To Black album. It's easy to see why these sessions didn't amount to anything – Amy does not sound her best, to say the least. Unsurprisingly, Nas brings it and then some. They may just be doing a disservice to the memory of one of the most unique voices in a generation.
