Antony & the Johnsons - "Find the Rhythm of Your Love"

On Record Store Day, Antony Hegarty and his band the Johnsons will drop an extension of their 2010 record Swanlights. Confusingly, we hear the EP’s of the same title, but with good reason: it’ll contain “Swanlights” the song and two outtakes, “Kissing No One” and “Find the Rhythm of Your Love,” which you can listen to today to emotionally prepare yourself for the whole thing.

And you probably will need some emotional preparation: “Find the Rhythm of Your Love” is as heartwrenchingly, operatically beautiful as the rest of Antony’s material – it sounds like the aria over the lover’s death. The piano and strings would probably make you cry – out of beauty, not just sadness – on their own, but Antony’s voice ups it to a new level. Click play and enjoy.

Thanks to Disco Naivete for the heads up. And full disclosure: the audio above is not from the EP. It will probably be polished and reworked in the final pressing for Record Store Day.
