Premiere: Breton - "S Four"

An essential cut from the South London quintet.

Breton S Four

South London quintet Breton have been receiving a lot of attention thanks to their genre-straddling EP, Force of Habit, spearheaded by its propulsive and beguilingly cheery lead single, "Envy." Today we're excited to premiere the bands' follow-up to that EP - the pensive and meandering "S Four." The off-kilter, skittering beats, expansiveness open space and synth cords give the track a bit of an alt-J feel that really plays to this band's strengths. The lyrics pack a punch, too (which isn't something you'd hear me saying about alt-J). From the band themselves: "'S four' is about the impossibly of long distance relationships, or being tricked by technology like Skype and mobile phones into thinking they can work." Check it out below:

"S Four" is off of Breton's upcoming sophomore album, War Room Stories, out February 3 on digital and vinyl.
