In many ways, this has been the come back year for dubstep luminary Burial, who made a huge impact on the music world with 2007's riveting Untrue, and since than has yet to release a proper follow up. The U.K. mastermind teamed up with Four Tet and Thom Yorke on two stellar tracks that were released earlier this month, is producing much of Jamie Woon's anticipated Mirrorwriting, and today releases his Street Halo EP. We've heard radio rips of the title track and “Stolen Dog” (thanks BBC Radio 1) and now the final song, "NYC," has hit the internet.
The song is the lengthiest of the three, encapsulating that classic Burial sound: slow, dreamy strings, dark mysterious beats, unfathomable vocals, an overall griminess otherwise not known to man. Whether or not the artist will be releasing a proper full length remains to be unsaid, but let's hope it happens. Check out “NYC” below.
