Caribou’s Dan Snaith Shares New Daphni Track

Publish date:

I'll stand by my assertion that BBC Radio 1's residency program is one of the best things currently happening for electronic music — the resident DJs are fantastic musicians themselves and represent diverse backgrounds, from James Blake to Flying Lotus to Jon Hopkins, and they often host friends to guest in the studio and share new and/or rare songs. Jon Hopkins’ show aired last night and he invited his friend Dan Snaith, the Canadian musician behind Caribou and Daphni, into the studio to share some new music.

One such song is the sexy, serpentine untitled number you can hear around the 27:00 mark in the show playback, which Snaith initially wrote to DJ at his New Years’ parties with Four Tet. Could this mean our first new Daphni release since 2012 is in store? Stay tuned.
